Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Waxly and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also get there from Waxly: Settings → Manage subscription. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I restore my purchase?

Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe. Then open Waxly and tap Restore on the subscription screen, or go to Settings → Restore purchases.

When does the free trial end, and what will I be charged?

The yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial. When the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts automatically and you are charged the yearly price shown on the subscription screen (prices vary by country). To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. After that, the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

The result says "Not sure". What should I do?

It means Waxly could not read the text or find a matching record with confidence, and it would rather say so than guess. Try again with a photo of the center label:

  • Center the label in the circle and get close enough to read the catalog number.
  • Light it from the side to avoid glare and reflections.
  • Hold the phone flat above the record and keep the photo sharp.
  • If the label is hard to read, try a photo of the front cover, or the other way around.
  • Scan one record at a time, with nothing else in the frame.
Why is the value a range, and what does "Several pressings look alike" mean?

A record's collector value depends a lot on its condition, so Waxly shows an estimate for each grade, from Good (G) to Near Mint (NM). The same pressing always gets the same range. The estimate is made by AI: it is not a formal appraisal or an offer to buy, and Waxly does not check whether a pressing is original. Different pressings of the same album can be worth very different amounts. When several pressings look alike, the result tells you so. Take a photo of the center label so that the catalog number is readable, and Waxly can find the exact one.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, open Settings → Delete my data. This deletes your anonymous account and resets the app on your device. It does not cancel a subscription; do that in your device's subscription settings. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
